Enjoy the hussle and bussle of Borough Market on a week day so not too crowded. You can buy fresh produce or eat at various places in the market (2 min walk from coach drop off).
Close by is Southwark Cathedral (3 mins) or see how operations used to be performed at the Old Operating Theatre Museum (3 mins).
Take a birds eye view of London from the Shard (pre-booking required) (5 mins), see the replica of Sir Francis Drake’s Golden hind (5 mins), WW2 Battleship HMS Belfast (7 mins), the Clink prison experience (7 mins), Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre (13 mins).
If you fancy walking further along the Southbank you can see The Tate Modern Art Gallery at the old Bankside Power Station (17 mins). Walk around Gabriels Wharf (27 mins) Lovely Pizzas here – and the National Theatre complex (32 mins), the Royal Festival Hall (34 mins) and the London Eye (36 mins). Continue to the Leake Street railway arches where you’ll see some amazing street art (43 mins). There are numerous riverside pubs to stop in for refreshments! You may wish to cross the river at Waterloo or Hungerford Bridges and be in Covent Graden (45 mins).
