Stroud Market Town & Tetbury

Saturday 6th March 2027

A lovely day out discovering two contrasting Cotswold towns

Join us for a wonderful day exploring Stroud and Tetbury, two charming Cotswold destinations, each with its own very different character.

Stroud

Our first stop is Stroud, a lively and characterful market town nestled amongst the beautiful Five Valleys.

We expect to arrive at approximately 11.15am, giving you around 3½ hours at leisure.

Saturday is a great day to visit Stroud, with the popular Farmers’ Market bringing the town centre to life. Browse stalls offering local produce, freshly baked goods, cheeses, sweet treats, crafts and much more.

There is plenty to discover beyond the market too. Enjoy Stroud’s independent shops and bookshops, wander through the historic Shambles, stop for lunch in one of the many cafés, or simply soak up the atmosphere of this distinctive Cotswold town.

Those who fancy a little stroll can also head towards the canal and discover some of the old mill heritage for which the Stroud Valleys are famous.

We depart Stroud at approximately 2.45pm for the short journey to Tetbury.

Tetbury

We arrive in beautiful Tetbury at approximately 3.15pm, giving you around 2 hours 15 minutes to explore at your own pace.

Tetbury has a very different feel to Stroud, with its honey-coloured Cotswold stone buildings, historic streets, independent boutiques, antique shops and welcoming cafés.

Take a wander around the Market House and Long Street, browse the shops or enjoy afternoon tea before our journey home.

Tetbury is also well known for its royal connections, with the Highgrove Estate situated just outside the town. The Highgrove Shop can be found on Long Street and is well worth a browse.

Stroud and Tetbury make a wonderful combination — a bustling traditional market town followed by a relaxed afternoon in one of the Cotswolds’ prettiest historic towns.
