Opening Night
The incomparable Sheridan Smith returns to the stage in the world premiere of Opening Night, a new musical featuring music and lyrics by Rufus Wainwright, one of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters of his generation, alongside book and direction by Tony® and Olivier® award-winner Ivo van Hove.
Based on John Cassavetes’ legendary film, Opening Night follows a theatre company’s preparations to stage a major new play on Broadway. But drama ignites behind the scenes when their leading lady is rocked by tragedy, and her personal turmoil forces everybody to deliver the performance of their lives.
This beautifully rich new musical premieres at London’s Gielgud Theatre for a strictly limited run from 6 March 2024

We usually arrive close to the Theatre around 12.45pm. The show commences at 2.30pm and ends around 5.10pm. This Theatre is located close to Piccadilly Circus / Leicester Square / China Town.
The coach will depart at 7pm. I will point out where from on the day (we aim to drop and collect you from same point (as long as the driver can park/ wait).
The coach will drop you within 1 minute to the Theatre.
