Edinburgh Military Tattoo

Our story began over seven decades ago and had humble beginnings. It was inspired by a simple show called ‘Something About a Soldier’ performed in 1949 at the Ross Bandstand. The bandstand is still there, in Princes Street Gardens just below the Castle. Make sure to look out for it when you visit. Lieutenant Colonel George Malcolm was the first Producer of The Edinburgh Tattoo. He aimed to bring the Army’s contribution to the Edinburgh International Festival to life. From a modest event in a park to today’s global showcase at the Castle.

Perth

Sitting on the banks of the River Tay, Perth is the cosmopolitan centre and bustling city of rural Perthshire offering a range of entertainment, shops, cafes and restaurants. Perth was the former capital city of Scotland which was recently made a city again by the Queen in 2012 as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations. With a rich history as the Scottish capital Perth is an extremely interesting place to visit.

Aberfeldy, Crieff & Pitlochry

Where rolling lowland hills meet rugged highland mountains, these bustling towns have plenty to do and see. Lying on the shores of Scotland’s longest river, the River Tay, Aberfeldy has spectacular views of the Falls of Moness. Journey on to discover Crieff – originally a main cattle trading centre in Scotland. From its medieval roots this town has flourished and is home to the oldest distillery in Scotland which showcases one of Scotland’s most famous whiskies. Finally visit the friendly little town of Pitlochry with its quaint architecture and beautiful scenery, as well as local crafts and produce.

Braemar and a trip to Balmoral Estate

In the heart of the Cairngorm National Park and close to Balmoral Castle this pretty village is surrounded by hidden glens and beautiful mountain scenery. Close by lies Balmoral – the Scottish home of the Royal Family. First purchased in 1852 Queen Victoria and Prince Albert completed the new castle in 1856. The couple were notoriously fond of the Scottish Highlands and all that its rugged wilderness had to offer. The castle has since become a haven for successive generations of the Royal Family. Explore the grand ballroom before strolling in the surrounding gardens to fully understand the charm of this Royal home.

Please refrain from walking up and down the coach as this can be dangerous.  If you need to speak to me or the driver just pass a message down the coach – this is for your safety and the safety of other passengers.

I have high regard for my drivers and always ask customers if they would like to contribute to a non – obligatory tip as a thank you from us.

Please refer to the terms and conditions with regard to respecting others on the coach.
